
Many of the hospitals in Allegheny County were in contact with each other, but each hospital system only had visibility into its own facilities.

But, if we didn’t need the facility, that decision would have stretched already thin resources. If the emergency space wasn’t open and hospital beds ran out, mortality rates could soar.
